A message from our President & CEO Russell Coleman

Earlier this month, Harc’s President and CEO Russell Coleman, along with his sons Nicholas, Jacob, and Joshua, completed the Presidential Traverse in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Over two and a half days, we hiked nearly 27 miles and climbed close to 10,000 feet in elevation, reaching several major peaks including Mount Washington, the tallest in the Northeast.
The Coleman Climb for a Cause was started as a family-led fundraiser to support Harc’s mission. The goal was to raise $6,288, representing one dollar for each foot of Mount Washington’s height. Every donation helps programs that promote inclusion, dignity, and opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It was a very challenging hike. The terrain was steep and relentless, and many moments pushed our endurance to the limit. During those tough sections, my sons would remind me that we were doing it for a good cause. That simple reminder kept us moving forward, one step at a time.
This initiative was more than just a physical challenge; it reflected the values that motivate Harc every day. Some days in this work feel like an uphill battle. What keeps us moving forward is the courage of the people we support and the strength of the community around us.
We are thankful to everyone who contributed to the success of the Coleman Climb for a Cause. It reminds us that meaningful change doesn't always need big campaigns. Sometimes, it starts with a simple idea and the willingness to take that first step.
If you would like to make a final donation before we close the campaign, we would be honored to have your support.

Together, we keep moving forward.

Celebrating 14 Years of Inclusion:
Beazley & Harc’s Longstanding Partnership
In a recent interview with Jill Paradis of Beazley, we learned more about the enduring and impactful relationship between Beazley and Harc, which began 14 years ago. Jill, who joined Beazley at that time, played a key role in bringing Harc individuals into the company, having already worked with Harc personnel in her previous role.
“It was really that simple,” Jill shared. “When I got hired, I told my boss about Harc, and we invited them to come work for us.”
Since then, individuals Harc's individuals and their support staff have become a valued part of the Beazley family. Their responsibilities include cleaning lunch tables, wiping down surfaces and desks, maintaining kitchen areas, replenishing snacks, and caring for conference rooms. But beyond their daily duties, their presence has had a deeper impact on company culture.
“We promote diversity and inclusion strongly at Beazley,” Jill emphasized. “Our Harc team members are always cheerful and hardworking. We make sure they’re included in company events and feel like part of the team.”
The relationship has also enriched the experience of other Beazley employees. “They’ve really gotten to know our Harc workers,” Jill said, highlighting the bonds formed over the years.
This partnership not only strengthens workplace culture but also exemplifies how meaningful inclusion can empower individuals and communities. As Jill said, “Everyone wants to feel part of something and contribute to society. They shouldn’t be looked at any differently, everyone deserves that opportunity.” Watch the interview and hear Harc's story and partnership with Beazley's Jill Paradis!

At Harc, our Dress for Success module is designed to empower job seekers by providing them with new or gently used professional attire—helping them walk into interviews with confidence and dignity. When we reached out to our community for support, another local nonprofit, Gifts of Love was among the first to respond.
Their generous donation of professional clothing has made a meaningful impact on our efforts to prepare individuals for employment. These clothing items are more than just fabric, they’re a crucial part of helping someone take the next step toward stability and
self-sufficiency.
Gifts of Love serves individuals and families who are often facing short-term crises, due to circumstances such as reduced working hours, illness, divorce, the death of a loved one, domestic abuse, or sudden financial strain. These are hardworking people who simply need a hand up during tough times.
By providing food, clothing, and energy assistance, Gifts of Love allows families to redirect their limited income toward other urgent needs like rent, car repairs, and medications. This shared mission of lifting people up and removing barriers is what makes our partnership so powerful.
