Patrice M. Calnen
Pat Calnen comes from 3 generations of Board Members. Pat’s parents, especially her father, was involved with Harc when she and her sister Jane were children, and he was a Board Member, and she wanted to become a Board member because of that family legacy. With support from her company, Lincoln Financial Group, who opened a supported employment site, she joined the Board.
“Harc’s mission has been a leading one in the community of intellectual disability for many years and has helped drive a wider adoption of opportunity and inclusion for our participants that continues to bring dignity to their lives. Independence and community awareness are additional benefits that have evolved from the work/message Harc delivers.
As for me, I recently retired from Lincoln Financial Group, but have no plans to step back from my involvement with Harc. I am so proud of my son, Greg, who became involved with Harc, through the Walk, back in the Simsbury days. He has been an organizer of the Walk and is now a Board Member himself. I know my parents would be “over the moon” proud of Greg’s commitment to Jane and Harc. The family tradition continues into the 3rd generation!”
