A message from Ken Cabral, President & CEO of Harc
The week of September 12 – 18 marks Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. This national movement brings attention to the critical role Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead lives of quality, inclusion, and dignity. Direct Support Professionals are frontline, essential employees.
Everyone at Harc knows that our DSP workforce is the backbone of our agency. They are the dedicated professionals that guide the people we support along the path toward fulfilling lives of inclusion and meaning.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our DSPs worked tirelessly behind the scenes keeping people safe and healthy. Their selflessness and commitment to the people we support are proven time and time again. There is nothing comparable to a Harc DSP.
This week we have several activities in store to show our appreciation and gratitude for our DSPs. Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as we will be sharing more about Harc’s excellent frontline staff. In addition, families and other staff have come together to honor our DSPs with private celebrations and other tokens of appreciation.
Thanks to their tireless work, people living with intellectual disabilities are leading lives of quality, inclusion, and dignity. Let the DSPs in your life know how much you appreciate their dedication and commitment to Harc’s mission.
