Hartford, CT, October 2012 HARC welcomed back many familiar volunteer faces from Ernst & Young’s Hartford office, on Friday, October 5, for a day of planting fall flowers and engaging participation in HARC’s Life Enrichment Program (LEP).
Ernst & Young volunteers plant on HARC front patio
The day began with a warm welcome from many of HARC’s clients who easily identified the Ernst & Young Volunteers wearing their bright yellow t-shirts. The first group of volunteers removed the summer flowers and a stubborn bush from HARC’s flower boxes and planted an arrangement of fall flowers. The second group helped HARC’s LEP participants paint and decorate ornaments for HARC’s tree that will be displayed at the Wadsworth Antheneum during the tree festival. After a break for lunch, everyone re-grouped and danced together playing Nintendo’s Wii.
HARC thanks Ernst & Young for volunteering. Their commitment to helping people with intellectual disability is truly appreciated.
