Russell Coleman

President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Russell Coleman is an experienced nonprofit leader with over 25-years of experience working in the human services industry. His leadership strengthens programmatic and administrative infrastructure, forging partnerships, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations to improve lives for individuals with IDD and their families. 

He joined Harc in 2022, and in his role, Russell spearheads Harc’s mission to promote inclusion, equity, and dignity for people with intellectual and related disabilities and their families. His responsibilities include strategic planning, financial stewardship, and fostering collaborations to extend Harc’s reach, serving even more lives in the Greater Hartford community.

Coleman received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University.

Residing in Litchfield County with his wife, Ruth, and their six children, Russell is an avid football fan and has coached youth football and lacrosse for over 15 years, sharing his love for sports with his children. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hiking every Sunday with his children and is a certified scuba diver who relishes exploring the underwater world.
