HB 5030 – An Act Making Adjustments to State Expenditures for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2015. This bill would help people with intellectual disability and their families by increasing Community Residential Services by $4.4 million and create half year funding for 100 residential placements currently on the DDS Priority One waiting list. Additionally, it would increase funding for the Early Intervention & Birth-to-Three Program by $1.9 million and increase Family Support Grants by $750,000 to provide subsidies to 440 families on the waiting list for residential services.
HB 5534 – An Act Concerning the Provision of Services to Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. This bill would require the DDS Commissioner to provide services to all people with intellectual disability who are eligible for DDS services, which includes people on the waiting list. The services that must be provided include; community-based residential services, respite care, emergency care, day program services, vocational services and in home supports.
